e-Wallpaper [End Result & Raw Materials]

Like what the title says, this is my end result of e-Wallpaper assignment.

Credits to my friends for sharing the pictures they took with me!!
And not to forget, the respective owners of the pictures that I have saved into my laptop from Google!!

Hopefully I'll get some nice score with this!!!

Below are those raw materials that I've used in the making of e-Wallpaper.

e-Wallpaper [Post no.6 @ Final]

Now, I'll continue with adding more information about MMU and also the Open Day.
First, I'll add in MSC Status logo.

Similar steps from previous posts, drag the MSC logo layer onto the e-Wallpaper layer.

Once again, there's white background. Delete it using Magic Wand Tool.
And because without the white background, the MSC status logo isn't obvious anymore. So, I'll make some changes with brightness/contrast.

It's obvious that the e-Wallpaper is still incomplete. So, I'll continue add a few more images that can portray our beloved FOM building.

As usual, I'll drag these pictures onto the e-Wallpaper.
But, before that, I'll edit some of the pictures.
For the 1st image, I'll edit out the people in the picture by using "Clone Stamp Tool" and "Soft Healing Brush Tool".
The other 2 picture will be just normal transformation through scale.

Finally, I'll add in the information about the main focus of the e-Wallpaper, the Open Day 2012 and ofcourse the date of the event, 21 March 2012.
The "OPEN DAY 2012" and "21 March 2012" has Outer Glow and also Drop Shadow.

Then, insert contact number and also address.
Using "Rounded Rectangular Tool", insert a box for the contact number and address.
Set the opacity of the box to 56%.

Finally, I'll add in the courses offered by Faculty of Management.

Before concluding, I'll just edit some of the layers...
First, I'll merge the FOM road-sign layer with FOM building layer.
Then, I'll do a final setting on the FOM building to make it look more interesting.

Filter > Sketch > Water Paper

After I've asked my friend's opinion, i decided to edit just a few more minor things...
First, will be the font colour for the course offered and also the 2 text box colour.
I've decided to keep the phone number and address in black is simply because it is a serious and important details.

And here's the result!!!!!

Finally, it's DONE!!!!!!
THIS IS MY E-WALLPAPER FOR MMU FOM OPEN DAY (21/03/2011)!!!!
YAY!!!!!!!!

e-Wallpaper [Post no.5]

Now, I'll add MMU logo into the e-Wallpaper.
First, open up the MMU logo.

Then, u drag the logo layer into the e-Wallpaper layer with the use of Move Tool.

After dragging the layer, you'll realised that the logo has white background and it doesn't look nice. So, I'll use the Magic Wand to select the background and delete it.

Then, to make the MMU logo glow, right click at the MMU logo layer and click "Blending Option".
Tick the "Outer Glow" box, choose white and the glow color and set the opacity to be 100%.

Then, do the same thing with the MMU Tagline and also the "A TM University" logo as well but leave out the "Outer Glow" setting.
However, the MMU Tagline is light so i'll make it more visible.
Right click the MMU Tagline layer and click "Blending Option".
For this, I'll choose "Strokes" to make the tagline more visible.

Then it'll look like this.

e-Wallpaper [Post no.4]

Now' I'll add in some images to make it a bit less dull.
First, open the image.

I want to use the FOM road-sign so, this time I'll use Quick Selection Tool for easier selection.

Then, copy (Ctrl C) and paste (Ctrl V) it on the e-Wallpaper.
I, then, scale-transformed both the road-sign and the FOM building to a more suitable combination.

From the image above, you can see that there is 1 part white there. So, I'll change that part into sky to make it feel more connected between this 2 images.

First, I'll use Rectangular Marquee Tool to select a part of the from the FOM building picture.
Then, duplicate it by pressing "Alt" while dragging the sky into the white part.
Then, I transformed the duplication using scale and also Rotation 180⁰.

Since the sky is duplicated, you can see that the sky is separated and the leaves of the tree is chopped off.
So, to make it look a bit more natural, I'll use the "Spot Healing Brush" to erase off the separated line.

After soft-healed the sky, I'll duplicate the tree leaves to make it not look as if it is chopped off.
First, use Rectangular Marquee Tool to select a tree and duplicate it.

Cut (Ctrl X) the duplicated tree leaves and paste (Ctrl V) it on a new file.

Then, use Magic Wand Tool to delete the sky from the duplicated tree leaves.
After the editing, I cut the tree leaves again and paste it back on top of the FOM road-sign upper-left corner to connect with the chopped off tree leaves.
Once again, i transformed the duplicated tree leaves similar with the duplicated sky.

This time to make the tree leaves more natural, I used the Smudge Tool to smudge the sides of the duplicated tree leaves.

After done with the smudging, I merged the duplicated tree leaves layer with the FOM building layer. Make sure that the FOM building layer is below the duplicated tree leaves layer.
Right click at the layer 2 and click "Merge Down"

Now, it look more natural isn't it?? :P

e-Wallpaper [Post no.3]

After editing the FOM building, I'll copy the picture by using the Rectangular Marquee Tool and press "Ctrl C".

Then, go to the e-Wallpaper and paste the copied FOM building by pressing "Ctrl V".
After that, double click at the "Layer 1" and rename it as "FOM building".

Now, I'll re-size the FOM building using Scale Transform.

To further edit the image, I'll zoom in at the entrance of the building and use "Clone Stamp" to make the woman to disappear.

and... WAH-LAH!!!!!

e-Wallpaper [Post no.2]

Before continuing the making of my e-Wallpaper, I'll edit a bit of the picture of FOM building i found online using Google.

I'll make the sky brighter since the sky in the picture is looking gloomy.
First, zoom in the area.
Second, use Magic Wand tool. To ensure the selection of the gloomy sky in done nicely, change the tolerance accordingly and also press "Shift" when selecting the area.

Third, change the brightness to my liking.

As you can see, the sky is much brighter.

Repeat these steps for the sky on the left section.

As you can see, the sky doesn't seem as gloomy as before.
Now that, the overall picture look a bit more balance already, in term of the colour of the sky, I'll brighten the whole picture altogether.
Repeat the steps above.
Use "Rectangular Marquee Tool" to select and brighten the overall picture by adjusting the brightness.

e-Wallpaper [Post no.1]

Firstly, to create a e-wallpaper poster for the MMU (FOM) Open Day, I'll create an image with  A4 size.
To do that, click File > New > Name it as "e-Wallpaper" > Preset it as "International Paper"
> size "A4" > click OK

Below will be the result from the settings mentioned above.

As the result is in portrait, I'll change it to landscape as it seems to be easier for me to continue.
Go to Image > Image Rotation > 90⁰ CW

A4 image has been landscaped.
